Pricing and credits

1 credit = 1 cent that you paid in advance.

Plan credits and purchased credits

There are two kinds of credits.

  • Plan credits come with your monthly plan. The billing page in the dashboard shows the plan price and how many credits it includes. Plan credits reset each month. Unused plan credits do not carry over.
  • Purchased credits are a separate balance that you top up. They never expire. A top-up is a one-time purchase between $5 and $1,000.

Benchmark spends plan credits first, then purchased credits.

Per-operation pricing

Each kind of operation has its own price. The dashboard shows the current prices. This page does not list them, because they can change.

You pay only for work that completes. If an operation fails or never starts, Benchmark returns the credits.

Credit and cap errors

A paid operation needs plan credits or purchased credits above zero.

For a workspace that qualifies, the balance can go down to minus 100 credits. This limit is called the grace floor.

402 INSUFFICIENT_CREDITS means one of these:

  • The workspace does not qualify for paid operations.
  • The balance is already below the floor.
  • This charge would take the balance below the floor.

To fix it, start a plan or add purchased credits in the dashboard. Then try again.

402 USAGE_CAPPED means the workspace reached its monthly spending cap. The cap is separate from your credits. The default cap is $200 a month. Contact Benchmark to raise it.
