Acceptable Use Policy

Summary

This summary highlights the main rules. It does not replace this Acceptable Use Policy. Use Benchmark only for lawful content research and analysis. Do not use it to harm people, violate rights, send spam, resell raw results, or weaken security. We may restrict or end access when use violates this policy.

Scope and responsibility

This policy applies to all access to and use of Benchmark. You are responsible for your use of Benchmark and its results. You must ensure that anyone using your workspace or credentials follows this policy.

You must comply with applicable law, this policy, the Terms of Service, and third-party rights.

Prohibited uses

You must not use Benchmark for the activities described below.

You must not use Benchmark to violate applicable law or help another person do so.

Harm to individuals

Do not use Benchmark to target or harm people. You must not:

  • Surveil or profile an individual, including tracking their behavior, movements, or private life.
  • Stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, dox, or facilitate harm to a person.
  • Discriminate against a person or group based on a protected or sensitive trait.
  • Make or support decisions about a person’s eligibility for credit, employment, housing, or insurance.

Spam and competing datasets

Do not use Benchmark for unwanted outreach or to offer a competing raw-data product. You must not:

  • Send spam or unsolicited messages.
  • Sell, license, publish, or distribute Benchmark results as a raw standalone dataset that competes with Benchmark.

Private content and third-party rights

Respect access boundaries and the rights of others. You must not:

  • Attempt to access content that is private, login-gated, or available only through a private account or access grant.
  • Use third-party content in a way that infringes intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
  • Use Benchmark in a way that violates a platform’s terms or other third-party restrictions or rights.

Security abuse

Do not misuse the API, interfere with Benchmark, or use it to attack another system. You must not:

  • Bypass usage limits, access controls, or security measures.
  • Disrupt, overload, damage, or degrade Benchmark or another system.
  • Introduce or distribute malware or other harmful code.
  • Obtain, use, disclose, or compromise credentials without authorization.
  • Test the security of Benchmark or another system without written authorization from its owner.

Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations. We may limit, suspend, or terminate access when we believe that use violates this policy or creates risk for Benchmark, our customers, or others.

We may preserve information and cooperate with law enforcement, regulators, courts, or other authorities when the law requires it.

Report a concern

Email reports of suspected violations to legal@benchmark.app. Include the relevant public URLs, dates, account or workspace details that you know, and a clear description of the concern.

Do not send passwords, API keys, access tokens, or other sensitive credentials.
